The colours of this world....

The children have been interested in the colours we see around us. It was a beautiful morning to take a walk and look for the colours that are all around us!

" Angels are white because they live in the clouds".

The leaves are beginning to change colour and the children were excited to see the many different colours. One student shouted " Yellow is my favourite colour!"

 Some trees are still green.

" I think God is here".

PURPLE

This leaf is brown!

" Miss, the garbage can is green!"
" Blue, I see Blue Recyclers!"

Our leaf collection has started, I wonder what we will learn next?

We decided to display some of our learning in our classroom. We printed some of our photos in black and white and asked the children," Where did all the colours go?" They were excited to recreate the colours in nature. Also during centers, the children sorted the items that we had found on our fall walk.

Curriculum Connection:
  • The students sorted, classified and compared objects and described the attributes.
  • Students asked questions about and described natural occurrences using their own observations and representations.
  • The children stated problems and posed questions before and during investigations.
  • They demonstrated independence, self-regulation and a willingness to take responsibility in learning activities.
