Hurray for Fun Day!

We didn't let the weather get us down!


We had a blast playing our Fun Day games!

The parachute was a favourite by many. The obstacle course had them screaming and cheering!

Bouncy ball races were so much fun!

PAN AM FUN DAY

Tuesday May 19th, we will be participating in some outdoor activities for the Pan AM Fun Day. Please make sure that your children are dressed for the weather. The children have been asked to wear running shoes so that they can participate in these game. Putting on sunscreen in the morning and wearing a hat would be a good idea too!

Bean Planting

After reading, discussing and role playing the fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" it seemed only natural that the children would wonder "what would happen if we planted magic beans?" Well how can we say "I don't know?" to that question!  What a great way to flow into our next inquiry of planting!
What does a plant need to grow?
      
"It needs dirt"  "Its pretty chunky. The dirt is dirty and gross"  "it feels soft"

"We need seeds. Beans!"  One boy thinks the beans look like marshmallows.
 
"Water. All plants need water!"


What do you think about planting?

A student says, "Not good! It feels weird. My dad doesn't let me play in dirt!"
After 3 days of no change, we finally saw something green in a couple of pots. 
 Within another couple of days we observed, "A BEANSTALK!" "CAN WE CLIMB IT?!"
Can't wait to see what will happen this weekend?! Will it be touching the sky? Stay tuned to see what will happen next...
