Winter walk
It was a beautiful day for a winter walk. The children were excited to see the changes in our path from Fall to Winter. Soon we will be looking at signs of spring!!

Shadows
Their pictures are cute,
Their ideas are too,
But check out their learning written in BLUE!
On Monday, a few of our students were playing " Catch my shadow" at recess. I over heard one of the students say, " Mine follows me everywhere."
During a classroom discussion, we discussed what the children knew about shadows and what the wanted to know. Here are some of the questions we discussed and the activities we planned to explore them.

The children wanted to see shadows of their whole bodies. We needed to make a bigger Shadow theatre!

We read a book about shadows and some of the children were excited to recreate the hand puppets found in the book!
The children were writing in their wonder books and some decided to draw and write about shadows.
Writing: Write simple messages, using a combination of pictures, symbols and knowledge of the correspondence between letters and sounds
